Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and vids.fm ("we", "us"). They cover your use of vids.fm: making product clips, the studio, the community feed and your wallet. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you use vids.fm for a business, you accept them for that business too.

1. Who can use vids.fm

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You sign in with Google and are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your Google account secure, and tell us at hello@vids.fm if you think someone else has used it.

2. What vids.fm does

You give us a product link, photos or a description. We research the product, write a script for free, and, once you pay, generate scenes, a voiceover and a finished clip using third-party AI models. The studio generates single images and videos from your prompts.

AI output varies. A clip may not match your script exactly, and it can contain mistakes, including changes to how a product looks. Check every clip before you post it. You decide what you publish and you are responsible for it.

3. Your content

"Your content" means what you upload or type (photos, product details, prompts, voice recordings) and the clips and media made from it.

  • You keep ownership of your content, to the extent the law allows ownership of AI-generated material.
  • You give us a license to store, process, copy and display your content to run the service: to send it to AI providers, render your clips and show them to you. The license ends when you delete the content, except for copies kept in backups for a short time or kept by law.
  • Public posts. When you share a clip or studio post to the community, anyone can view it, and other users can remix its style (template, character, language, length and opening line, never your product or photos). You can make it private again at any time.
  • You promise you have the rights to everything you upload: the photos are yours or you have permission to use them, and you sell or are allowed to promote the product. Photos we find online for you are for products you actually sell; you are responsible for checking you may use them.

4. Rules

You must follow our acceptable use policy. In short: no scams, counterfeits, misleading claims, real people without consent, or illegal and harmful content. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break it, without refund for the content removed.

5. Prices, wallet and payment

  • Prices are shown before you pay. Script drafts are free up to a limit per clip; renders and studio generations are paid from your wallet.
  • You top up your wallet through our payment provider (Paystack). We never see or store your card or M-Pesa details. Prices may be shown in your currency and charged in Kenyan shillings at the rate shown at checkout.
  • Wallet balance is prepaid credit for vids.fm only. It is not money held on your behalf, has no cash value, can't be transferred and doesn't earn interest.
  • Bonus or promotional credit may expire or be withdrawn if it was obtained by abuse, such as creating several accounts.
  • We may change prices for future purchases and renders. A change never affects a render you have already paid for.

6. Refunds

  • Failed renders are refunded automatically to your wallet, in full.
  • If a finished clip is badly broken (for example, missing video or sound), email us within 7 days and we will re-render it or return the credit.
  • Top-ups are final once credit is used. Unused credit from a top-up can be refunded to your original payment method if you ask within 14 days of buying it.
  • None of this limits any refund rights you have under consumer law where you live.

7. Third-party services

vids.fm relies on outside providers, including AI model providers through OpenRouter, Google sign-in, Paystack payments and cloud hosting. Their availability and output are outside our full control. Platforms you post clips to (WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) have their own rules, including rules on labelling AI content. Following them is your responsibility.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep vids.fm running but don't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, pause or stop features, models or clip lengths. If we close the service, we will give reasonable notice and refund unused top-up credit.

9. Disclaimers

vids.fm is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that output will be accurate, unique, fit for a purpose or free of third-party rights. Product research is gathered automatically from public sources and may be wrong; check facts such as prices and specifications before you use them.

10. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost sales, profits or reputation. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud.

11. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your products or your breach of these terms, you will cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

12. Ending your account

You can stop using vids.fm at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users or the service at risk. Sections 3 (license for content you've shared, until you remove it), 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive the end of your account.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Please contact us first; most issues are solved by email. If not, disputes go to the courts of Kenya, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim at home.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using vids.fm after that, the new terms apply.
